The classification of Spanish ibex trophies according to CIC follows an official measurement system, based on the diversity of subspecies and the geographic and genetic variations inherent to each area. This system is structured around three different scales: North, Middle and South, applied according to the geographical location of the hunt to fairly recognize the value of each trophy.
The North Scale is used for trophies obtained in provinces such as Ávila, Burgos, León, among others, including all captures in closed estates, establishing gold, silver and bronze medals from 230, 220 and 205 points respectively. The Medium Scale applies to trophies from areas such as Valencia, Alicante, Murcia and surrounding areas, with gold thresholds starting at 225 points. Finally, the Southern Scale applies to catches in southern provinces such as Almeria and Cadiz, with the gold medal starting at 220 points.
This differentiation reflects the commitment to value the uniqueness of each trophy, ensuring that each hunter receives the appropriate recognition for his effort and skill, respecting the particularities that make each subspecies of Spanish Ibex unique in our country.
